September 7, 2026 Monday - Butter has finally gotten used to the cows enough to not bark at them. Early this morning, we got out for our walk and saw this younger cow near the fence. He was very interested in Butter. They were kind of sniffing one another until Zak noticed. He spooked this little one and scooted off.
September 6, 2026 Sunday - Today was a good day. I met a friend for lunch. Then she recommended we go to an ice cream place for dessert. After I went to my friend’s house, where I made guac and we grilled wings. We smoked a cigar before and another later in the evening. These Oliva cigars are so good. It’s been a long time since we’ve smoked anything other than these.
September 5, 2026 Saturday - This evening I took the pups with me to run an errand. While we were out, we stopped to get something for dinner. This big field was next to the drive-thru. I pulled around to get a better photo before heading home. I love taking the pups with me for rides, but this time of year is a challenge. It’s too hot to leave them in the car for more than a couple of minutes.
September 4, 2026 Friday - Butter has pretty much chewed all her toys completely. I ordered her a new box of hard toys and ropes. This is one of them on day one. Shortly after I gave this to her, she was already dangling it in front of Zak, trying to get him to play tug-of-war with her. I don’t imagine this will last long, and it won’t be long before it looks like a mop head.
September 3, 2026 Thursday - I got a couple of avocados with my grocery order last time. They were finally ripe yesterday, so we’ve had this for breakfast the last two days. I pop the yolk on the one for the pups so it’s not so messy when I cut it up to share among the three of them. Butter has become the group alarm. She comes barking when it’s time to eat breakfast and dinner.
September 2, 2026 Wednesday - I’m making this salad with fruit again. I make it in layers so I don’t have to toss it. It’s kind of like a lasagna, layers of mixed greens, onions, tomatoes, strawberries, grapes, feta, and Parmesan. This is so good and won’t last too long, especially since I found the new vinaigrette.
September 1, 2026 Tuesday - A while back, I ordered a couple of these gallon glass jars. I have a panda cookie jar for the small dog treats for Pancake and Butter. I needed one for the large treats for Zak. They only came in sets of two, so I used the other for the mixed nuts I get for snacks. We all have a jar for our treats now.
