February 27, 2025 Friday - I finally wrapped up my freelance project last night, so after work and our evening walk, I took the pups for our Friday Night Taco Dinner. Butter needs all the practice she can get. We stopped by the car wash on the way, then came to this intersection. I thought for sure we were going to get pooped on. I had to close the sunroof.
February 26, 2025 Thursday - My friend called me the other day to tell me she’s been baking again. This time she made one of my all-time favorites, the Stuffed Carrot Cake cookie. If you like carrot cake, this is the cookie for you. Like all her cookies, if you put it in the microwave for a few seconds, it makes it even better.
February 25, 2025 Wednesday - I worked all day and night today. When I was finally getting done for the day, I realized I needed a photo for today. I was taking a photo on my desk. When I put my camera down, I was this on the back monitor. Honestly, it was more interesting than the photo I was taking. My desk and keyboard need a dusting and cleaning.
February 24, 2025 Tuesday - I don’t eat one of these cookies every day, but it’s kinda close. This is my last Peanut Butter & Jelly cookie. Who doesn’t like a peanut butter cookie, especially when you put a big scoop of jelly on top? I’m glad she uses strawberry, but who am I kidding? I’d probably love grape just as much.
February 23, 2025 Monday - I still have quite a few cookies left, especially after buying a box of my friend’s Valentine’s Sampler. This is her Hot Chocolate cookie. It has marshmallows on top. Her cookies make a great afternoon snack. Actually, they’re great any time of day. These are really helping me get through these long days of working.
February 22, 2025 Sunday - Today I spent most of the day working again. I’m still taking Butter out every two hours, and we still do our morning and evening walks. I got this photo of me, Zak, and Butter this evening. Biscuit and Pancake were too short to cast a shadow long enough to get in the photo.
February 21, 2025 Saturday - Butter has too much energy for everyone that lives in this house. Biscuit and Pancake are not her biggest fans at all. Butter has tried bothering Zak, and he puts up with it for a bit, but he lets her know when he’s done. I spent most of the day freelancing, but at the end of the day, I got this photo of them all sleeping near each other.
February 20, 2025 Friday - Today we introduce Butter to Friday Night Taco dinner. She’s really well-behaved in the car, but she needs lots of work on her dining manners. I definitely take for granted how well-behaved Zak and the girls are, but we have to start somewhere. I’m sure we’ll be back to our routine soon enough.
February 19, 2025 Thursday - I took the day off work today to take my sister to Dallas to buy a car. She bought herself a red SUV so she could be cool like her little brother. Her’s is quite fancy and definitely not something you’d take camping. We were very near Love Field, and I got this photo before we left to go to Mia’s for sour cream chicken enchiladas.
February 18, 2025 Wednesday - Butter still has really sharp puppy teeth, and I had to pick up a new box of band-aids the last time I was at the store. I guess the good thing is she doesn’t like to chew on stuff other than her toys and the back of the doormat I have at the side door. She does really like to snuggle even more than the other pups.
February 17, 2025 Tuesday - I’ve been doing freelance work pretty much since I got back from the wedding, and today was no different. I have an alarm set every two hours to remind me to take Butter out to pee. It’s about the only break I’ve taken aside from our morning and evening walks. With very little training, Butter does walk pretty well on a leash.
February 16, 2025 Monday - Our evening walk was pretty uneventful. I got this photo when we stopped at the mailbox. We saw about a dozen buzzards circling low over my brother’s yard when we got back from our morning walk. I was worried about his goats, but he moved them. I don’t know what they were looking for.
February 15, 2025 Sunday - First thing in the morning I take this one out to pee. Even before our morning walks. I also have to take her out much more often than usual with the other pups. She has made great strides in getting along with the others and she is always trying to make up for her accidents by coming to snuggle with me on the couch.
February 14, 2025 Saturday - I spent most of the day working on a freelance project, walking the pups and cleaning up pee from the new little one. My boss texted me this morning about the new pup and I sent her this photo of what we were all having for breakfast, ham, egg and cheese on sourdough. Butter definitely needs to work on sharing.
February 13, 2025 Friday - When we drove down to Waco to pick up some Kilwins for our boss, I couldn’t pass up a chance to buy myself a little package of goodies for myself. These truffles are so good. I may never get the caramels again. But seriously, who am I kidding? Whatever money I made doing the videos for Kilwins I have given a significant portion back to them.
February 12, 2025 Thursday - When she’s not trying to play with Zak or harassing the girls or peeing she’s taken to sleeping at my feet under my desk. I’ve also realized how much I take for granted how well behaved Zak and the girls are. She has learned “sit” pretty quickly, but everything else is a work in progress. She walks pretty well on a leash.
February 11, 2025 Wednesday - This morning I took Biscuit for her follow up. After I went to the animal shelter to pick up this new little girl. She was still available after the wedding. Her name was Wisp, but that had to go. I let Riley name her since she name Biscuit and Pancake. I was thinking Muffin or Toast, but her name is now Butter. The next few weeks are gonna be tough.
February 10, 2025 Tuesday - Our boss’ birthday is this Thursday. She liked the Kilwins caramels I got her at Christmas so much we decided to get her more. The pups and I did a little road trip this evening to drive down to Waco to get the goodies. It’s a little further than Grapevine but a much easier drive with a whole lot less traffic.
February 9, 2025 Monday - Coming home yesterday was a bit difficult. I would have liked to stay another couple of days, but I needed to get back to this knucklehead. My niece was able to come over and let Zak and the girls out, but yesterday morning he was done with visitors. I got them out this afternoon to get some groceries and a bite to eat.
February 8, 2025 Sunday - I’m not an anxious person, but for the last week and a half or so, I’ve been so unsettled. I think I was worried something would go wrong and mess up Riley’s wedding. Yesterday morning, it was like a sense of dread. Yesterday afternoon, before the wedding, while having a cigar and a drink with my friend, it finally went away. It was nice to have a relaxing breakfast and walk along the beach today.
February 7, 2025 Saturday - I don’t know that I’ve ever been happier than I was today. Seeing my baby full of smiles, laughter, and happy tears all day long made today the best day of my life. Not only has she married an incredibly kind and thoughtful young man, she’s married into a really warm and loving family. Happily, I’ve been told I’m now their family too.
February 6, 2025 Friday - This morning I met my friend, his wife, and my niece at the airport. We’re all on the same flight. This dinner at Casa Prime is the one other thing I was looking forward to here. I had one of the best meals ever on our last trip here. I ordered this for my dessert! We went to the raccoon restaurant after our dinner. I can say I’ve petted a raccoon!
February 5, 2025 Thursday - I took the day off work today. I spent most of the day getting the last of my stuff together for my trip. One of my brothers and one of my sisters have the same birthday. I took my sister with me to run a couple of errands and to take her to lunch. I’m glad I took the day off. I had to take Biscuit to the vet this morning unexpectedly. She’s going to be okay with a little bit of meds.
February 4, 2025 Wednesday - I leave for Riley’s wedding in two days. I think I have everything all sorted out. I was pretty busy today, so today I made us a plate of chili dogs and chips for me and the pups. I cut up one of these for them and shared a bunch of chips with them after I finished my hot dogs. That may sound a bit crazy, but my pups actually have pretty good manners.
February 3, 2025 Tuesday - The box of cookies my friend sent me had quite the variety of cookies in it. This is one of my other favorites, the S’mores Cookie. One of the best things to do with her cookies is to put them in the microwave for about 9 seconds. The chocolate and marshmallows got all soft and warm.
February 2, 2025 Monday - Today after work, I decided to take the pups with me to go get a new phone. Not that they had anything to do with it. We did also get the car washed, filled up with gas, and picked up dinner. They only had this orange color, so I’ll definitely be getting a case for this right away. I should be getting some good photos at the wedding.
January 1, 2025 Thursday - I got home really late last night, or should I say early this morning. I slept in a bit but definitely not enough. I took a couple of naps during the day, so late in the day I was starting to feel more like myself. It was after midnight before I remembered to get a photo. Almost missed my first photo on the first day of the year. I got a few sets of Legos for Christmas.
