September 30, 2025 Tuesday - This evening after work, I got the pups leashed up to go for our evening walk. As we were getting to the end of the driveway, I saw this spider just floating beside the mailbox. As I got closer, I saw its web was coming from the branches way overhead all the way down to the ground. It was hard keeping the dogs away from the web while I was getting this photo.
September 29, 2025 Monday - Today, my nephew, his wife, and my brother helped me empty my storage unit I’ve had since I moved out here to live with Dad. After all that was done, we all met for dinner in town. It’s always good getting to spend time with all of them. This is the railroad tracks that go through town. If I ever become a hobo, this will be where it starts.
September 28, 2025 Sunday - We started our evening walk out on the side of the house. I was looking over at the neighbor’s yard and saw all the little white flowers on their foot-long stems sprinkled all over the place. I looked over and saw quite a few in our own yard. After our walk, I went in to get my camera to get this photo.
September 27, 2025 Saturday - Today was a very full day. I got up a little early to get up north to see my friend’s daughter’s choir concert. I got to see my cookie-making friend as well. Her daughter is up there too. I hung out with my friend at his place for a bit. We got a cigar in there. I was supposed to meet Riley for dinner but ended up meeting another friend for a very early dinner and dessert.
September 26, 2025 Friday - I’ve been gone quite a bit lately, so today after work I took the pups out to get some dinner. After a long discussion, we decided to go to Torchy’s. I got us some breakfast tacos to share. I ate out by the car, sharing with the girls in the front seat and Zak hanging his head out the back. He drools quite a bit whenever we share food on the go.
September 25, 2025 Thursday - Today I left work a little early to meet my boss for an early dinner. Their happy hour menu had an old fashioned on it and I must say it is something special. Very citrus-y. I’ve been pretty lucky throughout my career to have had mostly very cool bosses. Here’s to Carlos, Christine, Ken and Bren. I’m probably missing a few but these top the list for sure.
September 24, 2025 Wednesday - The other day I was looking around the pantry and saw the bottle of syrup. I haven’t used it for much of anything in a very long while, but apparently just seeing it put this in my head. I’ve been craving a peanut butter and syrup sandwich for a couple of days. Tonight was the night. I made a little extra for the pups too.
September 23, 2025 Tuesday - This is Dozer. I call him Little Killer, he’s been my photo of the day a few times over his long life. His was could have ended abruptly last night. He decided to run off during his bedtime walk. It was incredibly dark last night to fortunately for him, a kind lady picked him up about a half mile away. I got a call to pick up the fugitive this morning.
September 22, 2025 Monday - Today, other than not wanting to wake up this morning, was a pretty uneventful day. I was kinda busy with work and after I was done I took the dogs out for their evening walk like I do every evening. I’m really thankful we had a somewhat mild summer. I got this photo at the same place I get a lot of my sunset photos, here by the mailbox.
September 21, 2025 Sunday - Today was another really good day. Early this afternoon I drove down to meet a friend I’ve not seen in a very long time. We met in Georgetown for lunch. And guess what? There’s a Kilwins just down the block from our restaurant. On top of getting to hang out with my friend, I got to take my other friend’s son who’s here at college out to dinner. Then just a relaxing drive home.
September 20, 2025 Saturday - Today I got out to meet a friend I’ve not seen in a few months. I actually think my photo of the day that day was this same drink in this same restaurant. The food here is pretty good but this drink, The Attitude Adjustment, is definitely the real reason I come here. Their table-side guacamole is pretty good too.
September 19, 2025 Friday - I got a very nice call this afternoon. My sister-in-law and brother were doing who knows what south of here and decided to stop at the place in Itasca with all the goodies. She called to let me know they picked up a couple of whoopie pies for me. Every time I’m in town and I pass the exit that would take me south, I have to consciously decide not to go there.
September 18, 2025 Thursday - I have more than their fair share of photos of Pancake and Zak. It seems only right to get a photo of Biscuit in here too. My days have not been very interesting of late so there’s been a lot of lazy photos of the pups. I think I’m in need of a bit of vacation soon. I’ll need to start planning something.
September 17, 2025 Wednesday - Today I convinced my sister to get out of her house and go get some pho with me. After finishing work, I prepped this pork loin and put it in the oven along with some corn on the cob. I took the dogs out for our evening walk and got back in time to reduce the temperature. This came out just right. The pups and I really enjoyed this.
September 16, 2025 Tuesday - Today after work I had a little freelance work to do. It didn’t take too long and right after we went on our evening walk. After dinner we relaxed on the couch. I’m in the middle season 21 of The Amazing Race. Toward the end of the evening I realized I still needed a photo. Pancake has little wispy hairs on the front and back of her ears.
September 15, 2025 Monday - I made the mistake of keeping my box of dark chocolate caramels from Kilwins on my desk. This made them disappear faster than I think they normally would. Fortunately, I have plans to meet a friend down in Georgetown this weekend. We’ll be getting some lunch and then walking over to Kilwins for some treats.
September 14, 2025 Sunday - One of my cousins invited me over to hang out and meet his girlfriend. It was great getting to spend most of the day with him, his girlfriend and another cousin, his sister. He grilled some burger for all of us. It was a good day out on the patio. I got home a little late and took the pups for a short walk. I added some chicken to their dinner to make up for being gone so long.
September 13, 2025 Saturday - Today was a really good day. I got to see a good friend for lunch. We shared a big cinnamon roll! After I went to my friend’s house to hang out with him and his family. First we went to go see his daughter play in a volleyball game. It’s always fun getting to see his kid’s in their sports events. After we went back to the house for dinner, drinks and cigars.
September 12, 2025 Friday - Today was another full day at the office. Hahahaha. After work I took the pups for our evening walk. I got this photo at the end of our walk while picking up the mail. After our walk we went in and seasoned a bunch of chicken breasts and then grilled them. The pups all got a little bit mixed in with their dinner.
September 11, 2025 Thursday - Today was a busy day of work but towards the end of the day my brother invited me to come over for chili dogs! I get a craving for one of these every so often. Mustard, relish, chili and cheddar cheese. I’m not a fan of onions on my chili dogs. I thinks it’s weird that people like ketchup on them.
September 10, 2025 Wednesday - Today was a full day of work. My brother invited me over to have burgers with him and his family for dinner. When I got home and not having other work to do, I finally had time to do something that I hadn’t done in a long while. I have a few sets that I still haven’t gotten around to putting together.
September 9, 2025 Tuesday - This evening after I wrapped up work, we went for our evening walk. When we got back, we relaxed on the couch. Zak was lying next to me until the girls came and ran him off. While he was lying there, I was able to pick this off his hip. A little less that I won’t have to sweep up later.
September 8, 2025 Monday - This morning while walking the pups, my nephew and his wife stopped me on the road. We decided to go out for lunch. I had another photo of my dessert from today, but this might be one of my favorite photos I have of Zak. He’s such a handsome boy.
September 7, 2025 Sunday - I had a little bit of freelance work to do this weekend, and I put it all off until today. It was only a few hours or so. I got this photo of Biscuit before going on our evening walk. I finished up the new Dallas Cowboys documentary on Netflix. I can’t stand Jerry Jones. He’s an idiot when it comes to putting together a team.
September 6, 2025 Saturday - This is my second weekend with very little work to do. It was nice to do a bit more cooking and a lot more lazying about the house. I did do some laundry, though. I feel bad for Zak. He’ll be on the couch with me until the girls jump up. They know if they get too close to him, he’ll jump down.
September 5, 2025 Friday - So last week when I bought steaks, the two-pack looked a little sad. As I was leaving the meat department, I saw another section full of four-packs. Kroger was having a good sale too. So this Friday was kind of a déjà vu of last week for me and the pups.
September 4, 2025 Thursday - Did I mention I went to Kilwins again? These Dark Chocolate Caramels are really good. I made the mistake of keeping the box on my desk. My mid-afternoon snack is on occasion a mid-morning snack too. I’ve not ever been big on caramel, but their’s is really, really good.
September 3, 2025 Wednesday - Today I took the pups with me to run some errands at lunch. I wasn’t gone to long but it made for a longer work day than usual. When I was done we did our evening walk. After dinner we watched some TV and I didn’t remember to take a photo until just before bed.
September 2, 2025 Tuesday - Did I mention I went to Kilwins? I went to the one in Georgetown when we were there a couple of weeks ago. I tried a box of dark chocolate peanuts. Those were really good. This time I bought a box of dark chocolate caramels. These are definitely gonna be on my “buy again” list.
September 1, 2025 Monday - Happy Labor Day! Today I met a friend up north for lunch. Mi Cocina’s food is okay, but I love their pineapple mojitos. We had a really great waiter today too. Very friendly guy. After lunch we drove over to The Colony to go to Kilwins for a little treat. I even got home early enough to grill some chicken for the pups and I for dinner.
