June 18, 2025 Wednesday - Today, my good friend invited me over for dinner, drinks, and cigars. I was able to get work wrapped up kind of early and head up north. The weekend started this evening for both of us. This is one of the gifts I got from Riley, the glass, I mean. Dinner was great, Jacks and Cokes were plentiful, and the cigars were even better. Today was a good day!
June 17, 2025 Tuesday - This afternoon I had one of my Ultimate Chocolate Chip cookies. I warmed it up a bit in the microwave to make the chocolate a little melty. I forgot while my sister was in town that we stopped to get her some fudge bomb pops, and I picked up a pint of vanilla to go with these cookies. Fortunately, I still have quite a few of these left.
June 16, 2025 Monday - I had two mornings today. The first morning, we had to get up crazy early to get my sister to the airport on time. I was able to get another hour and a half of sleep before work. It was still pretty tough to stay up today after being up kind of late last night. I spent a lot of the evening sharing a bunch of great stories and memories of Dad with two of my sisters.
June 15, 2025 Sunday - Today was an extra special birthday/Father’s Day with Riley. My little sister and I met Riley and Ari for brunch at my favorite brunch place, Ziziki’s. The same guy that’s been waiting on us since she was little waited on us again. Riley got me a couple of really cool gifts, but I think she may be trying to kill me. She knows she’s my beneficiary. I’m watching my nephew’s pups while they’re out of town for a while.
June 14, 2025 Saturday - Today was a very full day. It started with a funeral for an aunt. There was a horse-drawn carriage for her too. The horses were beautiful and huge. After, I spent some time with a friend and her family. They invited me over for a little birthday celebration. After that, I went to another friend’s house for a birthday dinner. I’m a very blessed guy.
June 13, 2025 Friday - My little sister flew in today. She organized a lunch with my old boss from way back when I worked at Smokey’s in high school. We went to the Mexican Inn. If you’re from the east side of Fort Worth, you know what I’m talking about. It’s so much better than the one we have here in Burleson. The one time I’m back on the East Side, I actually ran into an old friend from high school.
June 12, 2025 Thursday - Today I went to Dallas to meet another friend and her family for another birthday dinner. Coincidentally, it’s her half-birthday too. It’s always good to see them all. We had dinner near Riley’s place, so I stopped by to visit for a short bit. They surprised me with the first invitation to their wedding. This has been quite a birthday week for sure.
June 11, 2025 Wednesday - Today is my actual birthday, and I had a virtual “FaceTime” lunch with a very dear friend. My nephew texted me later and invited me to dinner. He took me to one of the best restaurants here in Burleson. The food was really good, and they make a really good Old Fashioned. The company was even better.
June 10, 2025 Tuesday - Birthday week continues! I’ve been craving a chicken friend steak for a little while. My sister and I decided to go to Babe’s for lunch. Another friend I’ve not heard from in a long while surprised me today and invited me to dinner. It was good to get caught up over an Attitude Adjustment, one of my favorite margaritas.
June 9, 2025 Monday - Today I had a doctor’s appointment at the end of the day in Ft. Worth. Rather than trying to drive home in crazy traffic, I reached out to a couple of friends to see if either was available. I met one of my good friends and his daughter, my God Daughter. I didn’t even think about it almost being my birthday. He paid for dinner tonight.
June 8, 2025 Sunday - If you saw yesterday’s photo of the day, you knew this photo was coming. The only reason I didn’t have this for breakfast is because I slept in. hahahaha I have a whole box of The Ultimate Chocolate Chip cookies. I may share some of them with my family. I haven’t decided yet. I may have to go pick up a pint of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream.
June 7, 2025 Saturday - Today was another really good day. I left the house kind of early to pick up a gift. My niece is having a gender-reveal party today. I stopped by their house and visited for a little while. Then I went up north to my friend’s son’s graduation party. It was good to see so many friends I’d not seen in a long while. Bigger perk, our cookie-making friend brought me a box of cookies!!! I took this when I got home.
June 6, 2025 Friday - Today I got up to take the pups with me to get my car inspected. We had to go for a little bit of a walk and then wait outside until the car was ready. After, we went into town to get some gas and a late breakfast. I got us some chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A. I brought them home and dropped them off, and drove to Dallas to have lunch with a friend I’ve not seen in a long while.
June 5, 2025 Thursday - I don’t remember what I had for breakfast or what I had for lunch, but this is what the pups and I had for an early dinner. I’ve noticed all the pups are getting to the point of not wanting to eat their regular dog food. I think they’re getting spoiled and know that if they wait, they’ll get something they like more.

June 3, 2025 Tuesday - Today was a very full day of work. When I finally wrapped my day job, I took the pups for a walk and came back to sit at my desk for the entire evening too. I had a bunch of freelance work to do. When I was finally done, I realized I didn’t have a photo for today. I grabbed a few of my Lego cars and set them on my desk.
June 2, 2025 Monday - I’ve not made this in a long while, but I think it may be my go-to this summer. If I’m not using tomatoes from my brother’s garden, he told me a trick to getting store-bought tomatoes to taste better. I left the two pints of grape tomatoes in the window since I bought them. It makes them taste so much better. I love this dish as much for the taste as I do for how quick and easy it is.
June 1, 2025 Sunday - Today was a lazy day if I remember correctly. I don’t remember much from today except that I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen a bit. I also did some laundry. I got this photo of Pancake early in the evening.
